BIO

Lindsay Bryan has been teaching theatre locally for over a decade. She is passionate about bringing theatre to all people and enriching the community through arts education. As Stanislaus County Teacher of the Year, her platform was on theatre for all. She led workshops that present ways to integrate theatre into elementary curriculum to elementary teachers in both large and small groups for the Stanislaus County Office of Education. Lindsay runs several camps and classes throughout the year for elementary and junior high students in addition to running the drama program at Davis High School. She has a BA in Dramatic Writing and Analysis from Westmont College and a MA in Theatre Production in Design from Southern Oregon University.


Carina Ibarra

Carina Ibarra

BIO

Carina Ibarra joins GCYA after previously working as Eureka City School District’s go to substitute music teacher, as well as leading music programs at Camp Okizu’s which helps families affected by childhood cancer. Her favorite instruments to play are steel pan and trumpet, (though she may not be able to resist a cowbell either!) Her musical pursuits have given her a rich variety of experiences, from symphonic music, to jazz, to the national steel band competition in Trinidad & Tobago. Carina is a current student working toward a second degree in music and teaching credential. She holds a BS in Kinesiology from Humboldt State University. Carina believes that music is a celebration of life- and everyone's invited!


Merrissa Brambila

Merrissa Brambila

BIO

Merrissa Brambila is teaching music composition at the Gallo Center Youth Academy. With over 14 years of musical experience as a pianist, violinist, singer, and composer. Ms. Brambila is the Director of Music at Geneva Presbyterian Church in Modesto. She enjoys writing music for Choir and small ensembles. She's been writing music for over 8 years and especially loves writing sacred choral music. Merrissa has won several composition awards in both Classical and Popular music categories. She performs with the MJC Community Orchestra, MJC Concert and Chamber Choir and the Modesto Symphony Chorus. When she is not busy practicing, performing, or composing Merrissa loves to spend time with her dog, Selah, and socializing with her friends.
