Mission

The Gallo Center for the Arts brings art and community together by serving as an inclusive gathering place where diverse cultural experiences illuminate, educate and entertain. We are committed to enriching the quality of life in the San Joaquin Valley through accessible, affordable, and engaging programs that reflect and celebrate the richness of our region.

To be a vibrant cultural catalyst where creativity thrives, communities unite, and the transformative power of the arts uplifts every life in the San Joaquin Valley.

Strategic Plan: 2027-2031

As the Gallo Center for the Arts approaches the 20th anniversary of our opening, staff and board leadership have worked together to complete our organization’s first multi-year strategic plan. This plan was developed with significant input from key constituencies in our community. During the process, we heard from staff, members of the Board of Directors and Board of Trustees, volunteers, City representatives, resident companies, funders, sponsors, parents of education participants, and local business, nonprofit, and arts leaders.

From those constituencies, we heard a mandate for growth: a desire to increase the reach and impact of the Gallo Center’s artistic programming and education initiatives and expand its role in Modesto, Stanislaus County, and San Joaquin Valley through deeper relationships with community partners.

The strategic plan that we have developed is intended to put us on a path toward that growth, while maintaining the fiscal responsibility and economic stability that have been central to the success of our first twenty years.

Our plan outlines four goals that will require investment over time and one goal that will guide our efforts to strengthen the Gallo Center’s capacity to support those priorities. It recognizes that growth requires consistent earned revenue and the intentional investment of available resources, as organizational readiness allows. Together, these goals establish a framework for prioritizing initiatives, building our resources to support them, and advancing the Gallo Center’s long-term mission in a sustainable way.
