They are called Special Engagements in part because the competition to schedule these in-demand artists can be fierce. What a line-up we have for you in 24/25: Donny Osmond, Wayne Newton, Eric McCormack & Laura Bell Bundy, and Isabel Leonard & Pablo Sainz Villegas are joined by Patti LuPone, making her first appearance at the Gallo Center since 2007, when she performed with the Modesto Symphony Orchestra at our grand opening!

Broadway Tours

Broadway Events

The Book of Mormon is coming back! What the New York Times calls "the best musical of this century," sold out two performances at the Gallo Center during the 22/23 season. It will sell out again. Four other hugely entertaining national Broadway touring productions are coming, too, each making their first appearance at the Center: Hadestown, Dear Evan Hansen, Pretty Woman the Musical, and The Cher Show.

The 30th anniversary tours of Complexions Contemporary Ballet and Step Afrika! are two of the dance delights for 24/25. The others are Velocity Irish Dance and Ballet Folklórico de México. Selected dance performances feature free pre-show Balcony Talks hosted by Central West Ballet artistic director René Daveluy!

Gallo Center CEO Chad Hilligus has curated a series of performances by world-class, in some cases less well-known artists, to expand one's cultural experiences. They are Rodrigo y Gabriela, Jane Monheit, Eric McCormack & Laura Bell Bundy, Dreamers' Circus and Delfeayo Marsalis & The Uptown Jazz Orchestra. These innovative, soul-stirring performances are intended to inspire outside the box thinking.

Homegrown Talent

Modesto and its neighboring communities are renowned for a deep well of artistic talent, and it's really on display with the Sankofa Theatre Company production of Sweat, the 2017 Pulitzer Price winner for Drama. Also coming is the electrifying rock-jazz-soul-roots fusion group originally from Oakdale, the Alex Lucero Band!

Rock 'n Roll legends Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo? Check. The groundbreaking alternative rock band 10,000 Maniacs? Yes. Backstreet Boy Nick Carter on his solo tour. You betcha. KC & the Sunshine Band, whose fusion of R&B and funk fired up the Disco Era? Uh huh. All of that plus the Ultimate 70s Reunion with Atlanta Ryhthm Section, Firefall & Walter Egan. Whew!

Leading the way in this welcome renewal of a Christian-friendly entertainment series at the Gallo Center is Christian music's most-awarded artist, Steven Curtis Chapman. He's joined in the line-up by hilarious comedian Henry Cho, and Quincy Jones' favorite a cappella group, Take 6. And if that weren't enough, we have Home for the Holidays with Peabo Bryson, Oleta Adams, Ruben Studdard and Haley Reinhart!

Blockbusters, indeed! They include Patti LuPone in her first appearance at the Center since 2007, when she performed with the Modesto Symphony Orchestra at our grand opening; the classical / hip hop artists Black Violin; wonderous magician Michael Carbonaro; pop music royalty David Foster and Katharine McPhee; ultra awesome singer Storm Large, and Champions of Magic, the enormously successful magic and illusion show.

24/25 offers one of our best jazz line-ups ever. Dave Koz will be here with his annual, perpetually sold out Christmas tour. One of jazz's best-loved voices, Jane Monheit will make her Gallo Center debut. The great Kenny G will be here, too. The endlessly entertaining, Grammy-winning Chris Botti is returning, and another Grammy winner, trombonist Delfeayo Marsalis is bringing his Uptown Jazz Band, one of the premier large ensembles in the world.

Get ready to welcome the immensely popular singer Yuridia; regional Mexican artists Banda Los Recoditos; top-selling Los Tucanes de Tijuana; the superb Mariachi Los Camperos; Grammy-winning guitarists Rodrigo y Gabriela; ever-popular Mariachi Sol de Mexico, and the extraordinary Ballet Folklórico de México. The Gallo Center Repertory Company continues to growth, thrive and innovate as a regional theatre presence, and this is reflected in its ambitious 24/25 season conceived by Ryan Foy, the Center's director of produced theatre and special programming. Expect dazzling productions of 1984, All is Calm: The Christmas Truce of 1914, Boeing Boeing, and The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.

Heiress to the state of mind of the Portuguese people, renowned Fado singer Mariza is joined in this series by Celtic Thunder, one of the most popular shows in the Center's history, returning with an all-new performance, Odyssey. Also heading this way are Charo in Concert, the lively holiday show Irish Christmas in America, and the trio Dreamers' Circus, a new musical force in Denmark that combines classical music with Nordic folk traditions.

Just wow! Trace Adkins, LeAnn Rimes, Home Free, Terri Clark, Sawyer Brown, Dustbowl Revival's A Laurel Canyon Retrospective, and Joshua Radin & Ron Pope sharing a stage! This is easily going to be one of the Gallo Center's most memorable series of country, folk and Americana performances! Wit & Wisdom

A new series with speakers who make you laugh and comics who make you think! The Office Trivia Starring David Koechner ("Todd Packer") is an interactive performance with teams from the audience competing in a trivia contest. Raconteur and storyteller Garrison Keillor will be here with sonnets, limericks, musical jokes and more. And in An Evening with Steve Guttenberg, the famed actor regales the audience with fun, colorful stories about his movie career following a 40th anniversary screening of the blockbuster comedy, Police Academy!

This exciting series includes the pairing of the internationally celebrated, Grammy-winning mezzo-soprano Isabel Leonard with "the soul of the Spanish guitar," worldwide sensation Pablo Sainz Villegas. It also has Charlie Chaplin's SMILE, a multi-media recital performance by French violinist Philipe Quint that celebrates the actor's life and musical legacy, and the trio Dreamers' Circus, a new musical force in Denmark blending classical music with Nordic folk traditions.
