Guest Teacher: Geno Carr
Geno Carr
Geno Carr is a San Diego based actor, singer, director and educator who originated the role of Oz & Others in the Tony and Olivier Award-winning hit musical Come From Away. He has appeared On and Off-Broadway, on five national tours and in over one hundred productions across North America. Geno has directed plays and musicals at Sarah Lawrence College, Stephens College, Grossmont College, Hartwick College, Heritage Theatre Festival, and Moonlight Youth Theatre. He spent two years serving as Assistant Professor of Theatre and Guest Artist at Stephens College, is currently adjunct faculty at Grossmont College, and has taught at MiraCosta College and on three voyages with Semester at Sea with University of Virginia (Fall 2010, Summer 2014) and Colorado State University (Spring 2023) as academic sponsors. In New York, he taught with Broadway Classroom, Believe NYC, Junior Tours and Broadway Arts Collective. In San Diego, he served as Co-Director of Education for San Diego Musical Theatre Academy and has taught/coached at North Coast Repertory Theatre, North County School of the Arts, Intrepid Theatre and Moonlight Youth Theatre. Geno holds an MFA in Acting and Directing from Sarah Lawrence College, a dual BA in Music and Theatre from Hartwick College and is a member of Actors’ Equity Association and the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society.
