YES Academy

YES Academy uses a punch card system! Purchase a class pass of two, four, six, eight, ten, twelve, or all fourteen, and select classes that fit your schedule! Students will receive a punch card at their first class, and their card will be stamped at each attendance. More classes can be purchased during the semester if their pass runs out. Who is Eligible to Register?

  • Students currently in 7th-12th grade
  • 7th & 8th grade students must have previous YES Company or GCYA experience
  • No audition is required, but some experience recommended. Classes are designed for intermediate to advance musical theater skill levels.

Registration and Punch Card Process

  • Classes can be purchased in groups of two, four, six, eight, ten, twelve, or all fourteen. If a student runs out of classes, more can be purchased during the semester.
  • After classes are purchased, a link will be sent for students to register for the specific classes they will attend. If there are less than four students registered for a class by 4:00pm the day before, class(es) will be canceled.
  • Students will receive their punch card at their first class. Students are responsible for keeping their own punch cards and are expected to bring them to each class.
  • Classes must be purchased before attending.
  • Classes begin promptly at 4:00pm and 5:45pm. We do allow a 10 minute grace period for late attendance.

What to Expect at YES Academy Classes

  • Classes are held two to three times per month. Each class date offers two different classes. Class times are 4:00-5:30pm and 5:45-7:00pm.
  • Classes will explore a range of musical theater topics such as acting, singing, movement, audition prep, and improvisation. Fall 2026 class schedule coming soon!
  • All classes are held at the Stanislaus County Office of Education (SCOE) 1100 H Street in downtown Modesto.
