YES Academy Classes

YES Academy is moving to a punch card system! Purchase a class pass of four, eight, twelve, or all sixteen classes, and drop in as often you can! Students will receive a punch card at their first class, and their card will be stamped at each class. More classes can be purchased during the semester if their pass runs out. Who is Eligible to Register?

Students currently in 7th-12th grade
7th & 8th grade students must have previous YES Company or GCYA experience
No audition is required, but some experience recommended. Classes are designed for intermediate to advance musical theater skill levels.

Registration and Punch Card Process

Classes can be purchased in groups of four, eight, twelve, or all sixteen. If a student runs out of classes, more can be purchased during the semester.
After classes are purchased, a link will be sent for students to register for the specific classes they will attend. If there are less than four students registered for a class by 4:00pm the day before, class(es) will be canceled.
Students will receive their punch card at their first class. Students are responsible for keeping their own punch cards and are expected to bring them to each class.
Classes must be purchased before attending.
Classes begin promptly at 4:00pm and 5:45pm. We do allow a 10 minute grace period for late attendance.

What to Expect at YES Academy Classes

Classes are held two to three times per month. Each class date offers two different classes. Class times are 4:00-5:30pm and 5:45-7:00pm.
Classes will explore a range of musical theater topics such as acting, singing, movement, audition prep, and improvisation. Please refer to the class schedule to see more detailed information on semester offerings.
All classes are held at the Stanislaus County Office of Education (SCOE) 1100 H Street in downtown Modesto.

Scholarships

The Gallo Center is pleased to offer tuition scholarships for the sixteen YES Academy classes. Assistance is granted to families that demonstrate a need and who would otherwise be unable to participate. A percentage of class spots are reserved each semester for scholarship recipients. However, a spot in the class is not guaranteed depending on the number of scholarship applications and class registration.
