FAQ’s and Policies
HOW DO I BOOK YES ACADEMY?
Patrons can submit a YES Academy Booking Request Form available on the YES Academy webpage here. Upon receipt of this form, our Arts Education Programs Manager will check the availability of the YES Academy students and directors. All performance acceptances are based on the availability of students and directors. The earlier you submit a request, the more likely YES Academy will be available.
WILL I RECEIVE A CONFIRMATION?
After your initial request is submitted you will receive an emailed confirmation of submission. Please allow 5-7 days before you receive an email confirmation acceptance or declination. You may receive a follow up email or phone call from Arts Education Programs Manager, Maggie Sniffen requesting more detailed information about your event.
IS THERE A COST FOR THE PERFORMANCE?
There is no cost to book YES Academy, but should you or your organization wish to make a donation to Arts Education, you can do so here.
WHAT KIND OF PERFORMANCES DOES YES ACADEMY OFFER?
YES Academy offers 5-15 minute cabaret style performances. These predominately include solo, small group, or full ensemble songs. At this time, these performances are not a musical performance, rather a short music concert. YES Academy has previously performed at the Modesto Children’s Museum block party fundraiser, the Education Foundation Dinner, MJC Choir Concert, and various Rotary meetings and events.
ARE THERE ANY TECHNICAL NEEDS FOR YOUR PERFORMANCE?
Yes! In order for YES Academy to sound their best we ask for the following technical accommodations for most venues.
- Sound system capable to connect with a keyboard
- Sound system capable to play accompaniment tracks
- Wireless hand held microphones or mic packs (amount dependent on performance requests)
We recognize that more intimate venues may not need or meet all of these technical needs. Please be as thorough as you can on your booking request form.
IS YES ACADEMY LIMITED TO CERTAIN VENUES AND LOCATIONS?
No we are not. Our aim is to be adaptable to your event. Currently YES Academy has 26 students enrolled. Should you want a performance that includes the whole group, please be sure you have a performance area or stage that can hold all the performers.
CAN I REQUEST SPECIFIC SONGS OR PERFORMERS
Yes, within reason. For example, if you know you’re housing a small gathering and would like just a few songs, YES Academy would only send a few performers. If you are hosting a large event and would like a large group, we can send as many students as are available. We do our best to take song requests, but this does depend on the amount of preparation time for performers.
HOW FAR IN ADVANCE SHOULD I SUBMIT A BOOKING REQUEST FOR YES ACADEMY?
Please submit requests no later than 45 days prior to your event. The more notice, the more likely YES Academy is available.
YES Academy has a limited number of performances available. A booking request does not guarantee a performance.
