Audition FAQ's
Audition Requirements & Eligibility: Students currently in 6th grade through 12th grade are eligible to audition for YES Company.
Arriving & Check In: Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled audition time. Enter via the main lobby doors on I Street. Check in with our Programs Coordinator at the designated table. At check in you will: confirm your contact information, ensure your audition form is complete, and receive your audition number.
What to Wear: Comfortable clothing that you can easily move in (like what you wear to gym class) and closed toed shoes (like a tennis shoe or jazz shoe).
What to Bring: A water bottle, your best self, and any questions you have about YES Company!
What to Expect: After check in everyone will learn a short movement phrase and perform it for the audition panel in small groups. Everyone will then learn a short section of a song from the show and perform it for the audition panel. Some auditioners may be asked to stay and sing additional music or perform a more complex dance phrase. Auditions will last approximately three hours. Please arrange for drop off and pick up only. Auditions are closed to parents, family, and friends.
First Time Families: We highly encourage parents/guardians who are new to YES Company to stay for the first 15 minutes of the auditions to hear a little more about YES Company, its schedule, expectations, and ask any questions with Director of Arts Education, Cortney Hurst.
After Your Audition: You might receive an email asking you to return for a call back audition on Sunday February 23, 2025 . If you do not receive an email, don't worry! All auditioners will receive a final casting email no later than Friday February 28, 2025.
Casting: YES Company is an open audition process in which all students will audition with the same material. If you are interested in auditioning for a specific role, you will have the opportunity to note that on your audition registration.
Character Breakdown
Scheduling Conflicts: YES Company staff do their best to accommodate summer conflicts. However based on character casting, length of conflict, and time it may not be possible. Please review the general YES Company calendar below to get a better sense of the time commitment.
