One of the newest additions to the downtown entertain scene is the Modesto Rotary Centennial Music Garden (MoRo Music Garden for short), located on the front lawn of the Gallo Center. After opening earlier this year, the music garden has quickly become a popular destination serving nearby office workers with brown bag lunches, families from across the city seeking something new and fun to do, and Modesto visitors exploring downtown attractions. It is also hosting free concerts and other events.
Conceived by retired Gallo Center CEO Lynn Dickerson, the music garden consists of a variety of large, colorful percussion instruments that anyone and everyone can play for free. Reservations are not required. Funding and other support came from the Modesto Rotary Club in celebration of its 100th anniversary, the Porges Family Foundation, O'Dell Engineering and Odyssey Landscape Company, as well as other generous families and individuals. This lively gathering spot in the heart of Modesto will serve the community for years to come!
